Lucien Albrecht, Jean's father, pioneered Crémant production in 1971 and helped gain an Appellation Contrôlêe for the wine and for Alsace. Clean, light but aromatic nose - lemon, grapefruit,
with a slight yeasty character. Vigorous ripe fruit
flavours mingle within a gently creamy texture,
balanced by crisp acidity and fine bubbles on the
long, citrusy finish.
Lifted notes of ripe, juicy apple are foremost on the nose. They also shine on the palate, where they are countered by a fine, gentle and creamy mousse and lovely freshness. This is beautifully composed, understated, fresh and elegant. The dry finish shines with lemon and echoes long.
The history of the Albrecht family as winegrowers can be traced back to 1425 with Romanu Albrecht, who was established in the town of Thann.
The fifteenth century was golden era for the Alsace wines and it was during this period that the winegrowers guild of Alsace was founded.
