A more savory wine with wet chalk, grilled hazelnuts and spices ahead of some stone fruits and very fine citrus. This really whips into shape with air. The palate has impressive, fleshy-fruit appeal and some creamy, white-stone fruit flavors as well as peaches and nectarines. Solid acidity really focuses the finish.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2013 Moutere Chardonnay has a gorgeous nose redolent of apricot, lemon curd and green mango plus nuances of honeyed toast, cashews and struck match. Medium-bodied, it is still very tight and youthful with great intensity, a lively acid backbone, and a long and layered finish. Rating: 92+

Clear skies allow for rapid cooling at night, nurturing the slow development of flavors in the grapes. This combination of climate and soil type produces long living wines of great intensity, showing concentrated but not overtly fruity characters. Despite an enviable track record and continuing success, the Finns have kept their winery small (around 6,000 cases annually) and devoted to the production of top flight wines.
