Penfolds Eden Valley Bin 51 Reserve Riesling 2010
Pale yellow. Pungent aromas of green apple, orange pith and spices, complicated by floral and herbal qualities. Then dry, chewy and refreshing in the mouth, with zesty acidity lifting the flavors of orange, spices and quinine. Finishes juicy but firm, with very good grip and persistence. I find this more ample than most examples from the Clare Valley, but it's also plenty vibrant.
Vibrant limie and mineral spice keeps this wine electric, with just enough fruit to cushion the finish. This is simple and focused, with the firmness to age in bottle.
