Somm Note

Winemaker Notes

Reciprocity's Cabernet Sauvignon is exquisite with aromas of dark berry, cassis and black tea with notes of hibiscus. on the palate, modest chalky tannins, bright acidity, and a hint of olive on the finish.

Pair with grilled lamb with fresh herbs, braised beef short ribs, grilled Japanese eggplant, grilled pork tenderloin with rice pilaf or semi-hard cheese like aged cheddar or gouda.

Made with sustainably grown grapes from a single vineyard, this wine exudes intriguing aromas of strawberry and cinnamon. It shows dignity through its layers of flavor: expressive notes of spiced cedar, new leather, pencil shavings, and tilled soil flow through powdered tannins. The finish of black cherries soaked in roasted coffee is dreamy.

A noble variety bestowed with both power and concentration, Cabernet Sauvignon enjoys success all over the globe, its best examples showing potential to age beautifully for decades. Cabernet Sauvignon flourishes in Bordeaux's Medoc where it is often blended with Merlot and smaller amounts of some combination of Cabernet Franc, Malbecand Petit Verdot. In the Napa Valley, ‘Cab’ is responsible for some of the world’s most prestigious, age-worthy and sought-after “cult” wines. Somm Secret—DNA profiling in 1997 revealed that Cabernet Sauvignon was born from a spontaneous crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc in 17th century southwest France.
