Winemaker Notes
Hints of wild mountain fruit, rose and cedar with pronounced crushed rock and Bordeaux like minerality. Warm earth notes married with lively mineral notes and fine grain mountain tannins. Dark blue and black fruit, dark spice, minerality and bracing acidity on the finish.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Traditionally, Robert Craig has done a brilliant job with their selection from Mount Veeder, and the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder (80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot) shows that haunting blueberry, raspberry, black raspberry and floral notes that seem characteristic of that AVA. A dense ruby/purple color, beautifully sweet purity, full-bodied opulence with a layered mouthfeel as well as sweet tannin make for another great 2013 that can be drunk young or cellared for 20-25 years.

James Suckling
The spices and fresh herbs come through the cool fruit here. Hints of sweet tobacco. Full body, silky tannins and a juicy finish. A delicious red with lots of character and tone. Attractive now but better in 2020.

Wine & Spirits
This wine’s dense richness is restrained by the cool, foresty sense of its Mt. Veeder origins. It’s almost over the top with plumped-up tannins and the vanillin of oak. But all that push is pulled back by mountain-grown freshness. For the cellar. (1,100 cases)

Robert Craig Winery showcases four Cabernet Sauvignons produced from Napa Valley mountain and hillside vineyards, including Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon from their estate vineyard, Affinity, a classic Bordeaux-style Cabernet, and powerhouse Cabernets from Mount Veeder and Spring Mountain. Each wine conveys a unique personality derived from the soils, climate and varietal characteristics of the growing region. Robert Craig has been a pioneer in mountain vineyard development for over 30 years. During the 1980s, he directed vineyard and winery development on Mount Veeder. Robert Craig wines debuted in 1992. The winery facility is located at 2300 feet atop Howell Mountain, with a Tasting Salon in Downtown Napa.
