Roessler Cellars La Encantada Pinot Noir 2007
The older the vines in this vineyard get the better the wines. Roessler’s ’07 is spectacular, showing massive flavors of black cherries, cola, sandalwood and Asian spices. But even more impressive is the balanced structure. Beautiful now, and should develop over the next 4–5 years.
Medium-deep ruby color; complex plum aromas with some meaty, earthy notes; rich, ripe, complex flavors of plum and black cherry; earthy with some tannin and toasty oak; good structure and balance; long finish. Deep, earthy and just a bit closed in right now, needs time in the bottle and in the glass to develop fully.
