Winemaker Notes
Aromas of dark cherry, French roast, cocoa, fennel, cedar, cassis and dried floral notes are abundant. Carrying through to the mouth is a delightful array of flavors including dried flowers, cocoa, cassis, French roast as well as notes of blueberry, blackberry, white pepper, violets, and incense. The length and evenness of the growing season helped bring forth a beautifully structured wine with a deep and complex flavor profile. The 2007 Cabernet is a spectacularly harmonious wine that begs to be savored.
Blend: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Petite Verdot

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Deep garnet colored, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon reveals a provocative nose of warm cassis, baked red plums, kirsch and blackberry preserves plus hints of spice cake, bay leaves, cigar box and fertile loam. Full-bodied with a firm frame of chewy tannins and crisp acid supporting the muscular fruit, it finishes long and earthy.

Wine Spectator
Good deep ruby. Sexy, expressive aromas of plum, tobacco, stone and earth, with a wild, meaty nuance. Sweet and lush but not overdone, with harmonious acidity giving shape and energy to the redcurrant, tobacco and game flavors. A rather suave cabernet that conveys real soil character. Finishes impressively long, with hints of mocha and nutty oak and nicely integrated tannins.

One of the most prestigious wines of the world capable of great power and grace, Napa Valley Cabernet is a leading force in the world of fine, famous, collectible red wine. Today the Napa Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon are so intrinsically linked that it is difficult to discuss one without the other. But it wasn’t until the 1970s that this marriage came to light; sudden international recognition rained upon Napa with the victory of the Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars 1973 Cabernet Sauvignon in the 1976 Judgement of Paris.
Cabernet Sauvignon undoubtedly dominates Napa Valley today, covering half of the land under vine, commanding the highest prices per ton and earning the most critical acclaim. Cabernet Sauvignon’s structure, acidity, capacity to thrive in multiple environs and ability to express nuances of vintage make it perfect for Napa Valley where incredible soil and geographical diversity are found and the climate is perfect for grape growing. Within the Napa Valley lie many smaller sub-AVAs that express specific characteristics based on situation, slope and soil—as a perfect example, Rutherford’s famous dust or Stags Leap District's tart cherry flavors.
