Winemaker Notes

The 2011 Pisoni Vineyard Pinot Noir is certainly one of the most elegant Pisoni Pinot Noirs Siduri has ever produced. It is also, winery believes, one of the most age worthy, just now at the beginning of what should promise to be a long life.

The Pisoni Vineyard has long been the source of some of Siduri's most compelling Pinot Noirs (actually ever since the innagural 1997 vintage). The 2011 continues that tradition.

Critical Acclaim

PinotReport

Deep ruby color; slightly tight yet complex herbal and cherry aromas with mineral and earthy notes; deep, complex cherry flavors with herbal and earthy notes; some tannin and sweet oak; good structure and balance; long finish. Very deep, complex and interesting Pinot with a long life ahead of it.

Vinous / Antonio Galloni

Although a bit understated, the 2011 Pinot Noir Pisoni is nicely layered in this vintage. The 2011 is a relatively laid back wine from the Pisoni vineyard, yet there is wonderful finesse and a nuanced, textured quality to the fruit that is highly appealing. Sweet cherries, flowers, herbs, spices and crushed rocks flow through to the pointed finish.

Vivid ruby-red. Raspberry, cherry-vanilla and floral aromas are lifted by a spicy nuance. Juicy and penetrating, displaying very good depth and focus. Sweet red and dark berry flavors put on weight with air and carry through a long, sappy, seamless finish.

Siduri
Two Pinot Noir lovers, Adam and Dianna Lee, founded Siduri Wines in 1994. They produced only four and a half barrels of Pinot Noir that first vintage. Now they handcraft over 10,000 cases of Pinot Noir from vineyards ranging from Oregon's Willamette Valley down to the Santa Rita Hills and Santa Lucia Highlands AVAs. Each Pinot Noir is created using gravity flow and minimal intervention, with the goal of reflecting the unique... View More
