This 2013 Stanton Vineyards Petite Sirah appears to be more concentrated and even darker than recent vintages, and may require a little bottle age in order for the ample tannins to slightly soften. It marks the tenth vintage produced from this exceptionally well-drained and balanced St. Helena valley floor vineyard.

The 2013 Stanton Vineyards Petite Sirah exhibits plenty of dark blackberry fruits, some forest floor, pepper and spice. It is full-bodied, rich, and actually a pretty good value. It is a big wine at 15.3% alcohol, but it hides it well behind the extravagant fruit character. Drink it over the next decade or more.

The Stanton family has been growing grapes in the Napa Valley since 1947. Beginning with the harvest of 1999, Doug Stanton began selecting some of their best Oakville Cabernet for the Stanton Vineyards label. In addition to Cabernet Sauvignon, the Stantons grow Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Mourvedre and Petite Sirah. Roughly half of our acreage lies in the Oakville appellation, and the other half within the St. Helena appellation of the Napa Valley.
