The 1997 Stonehedge Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a Bordeaux style blend, drawing fruit from Rutherford (Cabernet), Oakville (Cabernet Franc and Merlot) and Yountville (Malbec). This wine delivers a supple core of spicy black cherry, currant and plum flavors rounded by complex hints of chocolate, anise, vanilla oak and smoke on the finish. Aged two years in a mix of high quality French and American oak barrels, this wine finishes off with velvety plush tannins - a wine of richness and finesse fir for drinking now or aging in the cellar. A great accompaniment to all fares ranging from grilled meat and fowl, to hearty pasta dishes and strong cheese.
