Winemaker Notes

Located in Elgin, a cool coastal region quickly gaining a reputation for complex, minerally whites, the Sutherland property is owned and farmed by the heralded Thelema Mountain Vineyards. The wines are vinified at Thelema's Stellenbosch property. This bright, vibrant bottling combines fresh citrus and stone fruit flavors with a subtle toasty oak component. It should age gracefully over the next several years.

Critical Acclaim

WS 88
Wine Spectator

There's good cut to the Jonagold apple and honeysuckle notes in this bright white, which stays fresh and racy, with a mineral edge framing the unadorned finish. Drink now.

WE 88
Wine Enthusiast

Remarkably well balanced and easy to drink with soft toast, grilled peach and Red Delicious apple throughout. The finish has a distinct nuttiness to it, seeming almost sweet and spicy all at once. Drink now.
