Asian pear, crisp lime juice and crushed chalk show on the nose of this very restrained wine from one of the region's top-tier producers. The palate is framed in lively acidity and strong minerality, presenting flavors of white rocks, lemon peel and brie rind. A nice amount of grip will ensure some aging potential too.

Many of the Fogarty estate’s chardonnay vines are now over 35 years old, and this feels like a natural product of that vine maturity, channeled by a warm vintage at this windy, cool, yet often sunny site on the crest of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Creamy and plush, focused by coastal acidity, it lasts on the gentle concentration of ripe, peachy fruit, interlaced with herb and chamomile aromas. For Dungeness crab. (2,870 cases)

Twenty five acres of Burgundian-style varietals are planted on the 325 acre estate, focusing on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and small lots of Merlot and Sangiovese. The winery property, located directly west of Palo Alto and Stanford University, sits on Skyline Blvd. at a 2000 foot elevation. The long, cool growing season and excellent sun exposure provide an ideal climate for these grape varieties. Dr. Fogarty's vision is to produce high quality, character-filled wines which take full advantage of the unique soil and climate of this appellation.
