Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
A pure red- and black-fruited expression of the variety and the region, with crushed leaf and cedary oak in harmony with the fruit; full-bodied and brooding on the palate, the essency fruit drives through the layers of tannins and charry oak to a long and harmonious finish.
Bright violet color. Mineral-laced dark berry and cherry scents show very good clarity and notes of pipe tobacco and cedar. Textbook cabernet, with gently sweet cassis and cherry flavors, good mineral bite and silky texture. Finishes spicy and long, with fine-grained tannins adding shape.
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is youthfully subdued with primary notes of fresh black currant, plums and cedar over nuances of toast, yeast extract and bay leaf. Medium-bodied and tightly knit in the mouth, it has a great concentration of muscular black fruit and savory flavors with crisp acid and a firm level of grainy tannins, finishing long. Consider drinking it 2013 to 2020+.
