A new non-vintage Chateauneuf du Pape from the best barrels of the vintage 2007 Anonymous (43%) 2009 (21%) and 2010 (36%). The Chateauneuf du Pape La Reserve is hedonistic and decadent, it offers an opulent nose of blackberries, raspberries, gingerbread and liquorice notes and crushed flowers. Beautifully round, offering superb texture and retains a remarkable freshness and purity. This incredible and complex wine should be able to keep 15+ years.

While I reviewed this NV Châteauneuf du Pape La Reserve VII IX X (a blend from the 2007, 2009 and 2010 vintages) last year, I was able to taste it again this go around, and it still blew me away. Fabulously full-bodied and decadent, with loads of lavender, incense, black raspberry and cured-meat nuances, it’s still youthful and vibrant, with notable freshness and purity. Enjoy this brilliant wine through 2028.
For 15 years, the winemaker Xavier Vignon has built a solid international reputation by providing expert advice to more than 200 areas, and participating in the development of the most prestigious wines of the Rhone, including Chateauneuf-du Pape. In 2002, he meets several demands of importers and develops its own wines, signed "Xavier" by assembling the best "juice" of a given parcel carefully selected. Without local constraint or variety, Xavier Vignon realizes his ideal wine: simple, modern, and above all an impressive value. 100% Xavier was born. It is an elegant "table wine" that overcomes designations. Building on the success of this "table wine" out of the ordinary, Xavier completes its range with prestigious wines, always from the properties he advises, and success is confirmed. In 2006, importers Australian, Canadian, Scandinavian command him nearly 50,000 bottles. As Xavier Vignon wants to keep its core business, the management of a leading oenological laboratories of the Avignon region (with 15 employees), the assistant to two partners in 2007 to provide the means of its ambitions.
