Radiant deep dark hues of garnet. The Weet aromas of blackbeery pie, vanilla, chocolate, with essences of wet stones, lavender and roses guides the sensations. Pillowy soft tannins coat the palate with dark currants, red cherries, licorice, and sweet tobacco. A long lingering finish of dry cocoa powder and exotic spices. Drinkable now, but will continue to age beautifully beyond five years.
Impressive from start to the very long finish, and even better than the splendid '06. Rich and full-bodied, this Bordeaux blend is marked by soft, sweet tannins and concentrated, oak-infused flavors of blackberries, black currants and chocolate, with complexing notes of olives and smoked meats. Should develop for up to a decade. S.H.
